a sunday afternoon rendezvous

Last Sunday I joined a few fellow bloggers and local entrepreneurs for a lovely afternoon indulging in food, crisp berry punch and all things beauty. This wasn’t just any beauty event, but one of a kind. The Beauty Board is “the ultimate try before you buy event” hosted by one of the leading beauty boutiques in the GTA, commonly known as BlushPretty. If you don’t know much about this event, BlushPretty: Makeup + Hair Artistry originally began as a blog in 2004 with only one artist on board. Four years later, Stephanie Daga – Founder and Creative Director of BlushPretty took her hobby full-time. Today, with over 15 artists on the roster, BlushPretty offers a wide range of services both in-studio and on-location.

This was my first time attending the event, having being referred to it by my friend and fellow blogger Jenelle. It was the perfect alternative to begin the week and to spend my Sunday afternoon, as opposed to the usual staying home, lazing around in PJ’s and watching a movie with mum (which is nice too, but a change in order was duly required).

These were just a few of the entrepreneurs we encountered. The venue which was located on the 4th floor loft of a rustic building had offered many more sponsors than one could ask for. After we had made our rounds, Jenelle and I ventured outside in the blissful heat to snap a few outfit shots before the day was wrapped up. In the act of finding the perfect location, we found the fire station conveniently located across our building as the highlight of our afternoon. Yep, this was a no brainer! (especially when firefighters were involved)
