I know I have been neglecting the blog for the past week, but only because so many things have been happening (beyond my control) the feeling has been rather overwhelming! Nevertheless, now that I have digested all this information, I am so, sooo excited and I cannot wait to include all of you in the news. For the last two years, I have been struggling to get into a social work program. I was basically at the point of giving up my love for this profession and looking at other avenues as my future. But…wait for it….when I received a letter last week in the mail, all of my doubts and confusion were laid to rest. Yes. I know you must be thinking social work. Really? It really isn’t parallel to my love for blogging about fashion and lifestyle. Well in a way it is. Blogging just kind of happened. Fashion and lifestyle is a part of who I am and Social work has been my calling for a while because I love helping people. And if you think about it, the two will eventually coincide at some point, even though they are world’s apart. This doesn’t mean I am leaving the blog. No can do. This just means my life got 10 times more interesting and challenging to keep up with. Bring It On!
In the meanwhile here are some of the interesting things that have happened to me in the last few days:
- successfully wrapped up a project at work
- got nominated for a versatile blogger award by everydayinadress – A BIG THANK YOU! (to whom I still need to return the favour, I promise that blog is next in line)
- received my acceptance letter from the social work program at the University Of Waterloo
- celebrating and giving thanks with good food – to life, to the future, to new adventures and of course to the one up above for being so kind!
Here are some snaps I captured. Celebration seems to be the recurring theme since last weekend. No celebration in our household is complete without a trip to our favourite dessert spot Caffé Demetre.
That chocolate mousse cake looks decadent. Don’t you agree?
And since I have been rather happy these days, my concoctions seem to exude that trait as well. Lunch: Avacado, cherry tomatoes and blue cheese bruschetta! Buon appetito!
Now off I go to find a cheap place to live and a rustic, beat down car to drive.
